                                                                          Muskoka Luxury Cottages

Looking for luxury cottages in Muskoka? The real estate market for luxury cottages in our area has been very strong so we thought we would give you some information on the region. We’ve got some beautiful areas that may just pique your interest. Near the top, a group of three gorgeous waterways, Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, and Lake Joseph. You’ll find the lovely town of Bala in the Muskoka Lakes Township, home of the renowned Bala Cranberry Festival which attracts many tourists each year! Also found within beautiful Bala is the Bala Museum which showcases Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of the popular Ann Green Gables book series. Bala is also home of the gorgeous Bala Falls. Luxury cottages for sale on these lakes vary greatly in price but generally are between $1,000,000 and $8,000,000 depending on cottage size, water frontage and property size.

If you’re inclined to recreational boating there is also beautiful Port Severn in the Georgian Bay Township with its renowned Trent-Severn Waterway which connects with the Gloucester Pool and eventually flows into the beautiful Georgian Bay. Take a leisurely trip along the waterway. The waterway is maintained by Parks Canada due to being a Canadian Heritage Waterway as a result of its importance during the industrial area! During your stay you may wish to take some time to visit the historic Victorian Gothic Bressette House. (circa 1888)

Another area with some interesting historical sites would be the township of Gravenhurst. Located near Gull Lake and Lake Muskoka, Gravenhurst is home to the oldest working steam-ship in all of Canada: the RMS Segwin which is available for leisure cruises for four and a half months of the year. After your cruise feel free to take in a show at the lovely Gravenhurst Opera House. However come Winter naturally you won’t be able to enjoy a nice leisure cruise, though Gravenhurst has you covered on that front as well with 400km of zealously maintained snowmobiling trails! If you’re looking for real estate to enjoy year round you’ll find what you’re looking for in gorgeous Gravenhurst. From a luxury cottage perspective, this area is very popular because it’s large lakes, short distance from Toronto and incredible landscapes.

Love golfing during your summer vacation? Huntsville has just what you’re looking for with its championship golf courses. Huntsville is home to quite a few golf courses waiting for you to tee up and take on the incredible variety of greens available to show them just how good your swing really is. Once you’ve finished up with your golfing you can take a relaxing stroll the famous Algonquin Provincial Park which is just a short distance from the town proper in Huntsville. And with Lake Vernon, Peninsula Lake, Fairy Lake, and Mary Lake all within a short distance there are plenty of options for casual boating and recreational fishing. Huntsville is also home to the Muskoka Heritage Place, which maintains many historical artifacts and family heirlooms that have been stored there in order to preserve the history and heritage of Muskoka. Cottages real estate on these lakes tend to be slightly less than the “Big Lakes”  like Lake Rosseau, Muskoka and Lake Joseph but there are incredible cottages and year round homes to be found.

Any of these beautiful areas of Muskoka catch your interest? If you’re considering purchasing a cottage up here give us a call, we can help. We live here, work here and play here.
