Reasons to Love Magnetawan #3

Early every Saturday morning throughout the summer residents and visitors flock to the Community Center . Some drive, some bike and some come by boat and walk, but they all come for the same thing; The Magnetawan Farmers Market. For a nominal fee you can set up a booth and sell your fresh produce, baking, woodworking ,antiques or what have you. Some of the venders, like Brian "The Honey Man" have been coming for so many years that he is as much a part of the Market as the structure he sits under. Some times I wonder if people come for the honey or just to talk to Brian and catch up on the news that's happened since the last market. There are Grandmas and Grandpas with folk art they worked on over the winter, Mom's with jams and jellies they made from Grandma's recipies and kids that grew a few tomatoes in their parents garden. It looks like churning bee hive of activity, you can hardly find a parking spot. The drone of dozens of simultainious conversations, crying babies and barking dogs give it the feeling of a fall fair.  It smells like a combination of fresh bread, old chedder and pine. The Magnetawan Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Another great reason to love Magnetawan.
