Muskoka Parry Sound Waterfront Real Estate Areas

It can be confusing at times when looking at lakefront Real Estate in the Muskoka and Parry Sound Area because of the terms that are used for Geographic Areas. Lake of Bays for instance includes more lakes than just “Lake of Bays “.    Likewise “ Muskoka Lakes “can be a phrase that many folks assume encompasses the entire region from North of Barrie to South of North bay! Not so. There are many overlaps and the following is in no way a complete list but it may be very helpful when you are looking at waterfront real estate in on the east side of the Muskoka and Parry Sound Area not including the Kawartha’s. We will put out a list for the west side of the district shortly for areas west of Lake Manitouwabing and including Georgian Bay and south to Otter Lake and Whitefish Lake.

Almaguin Area

This is a large Area and includes many small and medium sized Lakes; the largest connected lake system in the Almaguin Area is the Ahmic Lake system which includes Lake Cecebe, Neighick Lake, Midlothian Lake and Crawford Lakes. You can boat for 40 miles if you include the Magnetawan River to Burks Falls. There is also Horn Lake, Big Doe Lake, Little Doe Lake, Lake Bernard, Whitestone Lake, Lake Manitouwabing, Harris Lake, Spring Lake, Three Mile Lake, Whalley Lake, Sand Lake, Pickerel Lake, Eagle Lake and Round Lake, Deer Lake, Lorimer Lake as well as many smaller lakes and rivers.

Muskoka Lakes Area

This is an area which includes the following Major lakes; Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, Skeleton Lake, Three Mile Lake and Lake Vernon.  It is one of the most desirable areas for lakefront in the province because lake size, interconnectedness and close proximity to southern Ontario.

Huntsville Area

Includes the following Lakes; Fairy Lake, Mary Lake, Fox Lake and Lake Vernon as well as several popular small waterways and rivers.

Lake of Bays Area

This generally includes; Lake of Bays (strange that)   Peninsula Lake, Cooper Lake and  Oxtongue Lake.
