Great Muskoka Ice Cream Shops

Summer is just around the corner which means sunshine, beaches, and best of all ice cream. There are so many amazing places to get ice cream in Muskoka whether you’re a lover of Cotton Candy and Bubble Gum or more of the French Vanilla type. If you’re new to the area and unsure of what delicious dairy goodness is near you or you’ve been in Muskoka all your life and are looking for new places to stop at, the following list is for you!

Magnetawan Snack Bar -

Now I’ll admit, with this one I am somewhat biased. I’ve worked at the Snack Bar for four years now and I love it there! There’s plenty of options and if you ask real nicely we’ll even add sprinkles. It’s located right by our office so stop in and say hi on your way to get your fix of Cookie Dough ice cream.

Duck Rock - 2093 Highway 124, Dunchurch

Conveniently located just off Highway 124, Duck Rock is a great place to go for a frozen treat on your way to the cottage.  You can choose from any one of their 24 Kawartha Dairy flavours. You can check out their boat rentals while you’re there and explore the beautiful Whitestone Lake.

The Double Decker - 59 Ontario Street, Sundridge

A quaint burger joint might not be what comes to mind when you think ice cream, but The Double Decker couldn’t possibly have more flavours. (Personally, I recommend their After-Dinner Mint) A super bonus is that they even have soft serve!

Kawartha Dairy - 178 Highway 60, Huntsville

Kawartha is one of the biggest names when it comes to ice cream in Muskoka. If you go in the middle of summer, chances are you’ll have to queue up but it’s totally worth it for the creamy deliciousness that they’ve perfected. The workers have mastered the art of tackling long lines and it won’t be long until you have that perfect combo of Death by Chocolate and Moose Tracks.

Kawartha Dairy - 117 Bowes Street, Parry Sound

While you’re in Downtown Parry Sound to do some shopping, be sure to check out the Kawartha Dairy tucked in by the Rona. This is also a great place to go if you’re into frozen yogurt. Once you have your ice cream in hand, I highly recommend stopping by Bearly Used Books to check out the amazing deals they have on used books that will keep you thoroughly entertained at the cottage and on the beach.
